Intestinal Parasites

Small pinworm-like parasites, large strongyle-type worms, and

large roundworms can infect captive desert tortoises.  Several

protozoan (one-celled organisms) parasites (Giardia, Trichomonas)

can also cause disease.  All can be diagnosed and treated by

your veterinarian.
