Repeated exposure to sun may lead to bacterial infection of the skin and/or skin cancer. Important Points in Treatment 1. Activity: To control the problem, your pet should stay out of direct sunlight, especially from 10 AM to 4 PM. 2. Tattooing: Tattooing the pink areas of the nose and face with black ink is the only long-term means of control. Periodic touch-ups may be necessary in some cases. 3. Temporary control: Blackening the nonpigmented areas with felt-tip markers or shoe polish may temporarily protect the skin. Application of sunscreen lotions may also provide some short-term protection. 4. Diet: Follow the instructions checked. ____Feed the normal diet. ____A special diet is required. Feed as follows: 5.
