Nutrition and Digestive Disorders --------------------------------- General Information Pets with digestive disorders have special problems, such as vomiting and diarrhea. However, many foods that are fed may perpetuate the vomiting and diarrhea in these patients. The food should be bland, yet tasty enough to appeal to a pet with a depressed appetite. It should be fed in small amounts several times a day. Water should be given in small quantities several times daily. Ice cubes work well to supply fluids, yet prevent gulping of water and subsequent vomiting. Examples of bland foods are cooked eggs, cottage cheese, cooked rice and boiled, unseasoned ground beef.
